Description

  • approximately 203 by 131cm; 6ft. 8in., 4ft. 3in.
brocading is in two colours of metal silver and 'gilt' (silver) and silk surface brocading in brown and madder 

Condition

Overall measurements: 129cm across the top, 131cm across the bottom, 203cm along left side, 203cm along right side Pile approximately 2mm deep overall in very good condition. With a small localised area of wear adjacent to the metal thread motif in the top right hand outermost corner of the border. Tension crease in centre of upper border approximately 5cm in length. Original sidecords, orginal banded flatwoven end finishes in typical Toussounian style with dark red and yellow flatweave. Fringes trimmed, to edges of flatweave. Upper and lower end secured with cotton herringbone tape to reverse. Hanging loops on reverse of upper end.
