A Kashan 'Mohtasham' rug, Central Persia

Overall measurements: 130cm across the top, 132cm across the bottom,197 cm along left side, 197cm along right side Overall good condition. Fine closely woven, dense, even 4mm pile. Glossy lustrous Kurk wool. Lower end with original twisted loop warps, upper end with warp fringing, thin in parts but generally 7-9cm in length. Original sidecords, all edges secured on reverse with cotton tape. Good clear colour. A very smart example of 'Mohtasham' style.
