Measurements: Chodor Carpet: 225cm across the top, 221cm across the bottom, 369cm the left hand side, 377cm the right hand side. Tekke Carpet: 134cm across the top, 137cm across the bottom, 231cm the left side, 233cm right side. Chodor - Flexible handle. Pile variable from dense 2mm pile down to knotheads, within the main field especially. There are scattered small holes and there are several sections of re-weave and re-piling, for example the largest the lower right corner of border approx. 8 by 6cm and others within the centre left border and lower right quadrant of main field, numerous small scattered areas of re-piling (noticeable on close inspection as a differing colour tone). There are repaired splits and small re-weaves especially along the lower edge and a particularly noticeable repaired area of weakness, centre top half of main field and other small areas above within the top right corner. Both ends with original flatweave, warp fringing and soumac overlocking. The lower end especially, with losses extending beyond the flatweave into the outer guard as visible in the photograph. A decorative work with character. Tekke - generally even dense 2mm overall, with minor areas down to knotheads within central field. There is a 8cm diagonal split loosely held within the centre, visible from the photograph. Both ends with original flatweave and warp fringing, some minor losses. Top end appears to have had a further row of soumac decoration of which vestiges remain. Lower end the flatweave and long fringing more intact. Original indigo sidecords with some minor losses.
