the field composed of four rows of seven square panels, in green, blue and orange, with star motifs in ivory, green and orange, interspersed with lozenge 'tracks' with an ivory border with 'S' and 'H' shaped motifs

Condition

143cm across the top, 143cm across the bottom, (144cm at widest across width, upper section), 203cm along the left, 205cm along the right. Flexible handle. Generally even low pile down to 1mm and knotheads, some isolated areas of lower pile down to foundation, e.g. in the top quadrant as visible in the photograph and in areas on the borders, again visible in image. Some minor oxidisation to dark brown/black highlights in areas - with minor repairs. Some surface brown speckles of dirt within the lower quadrant. Both ends with original flatweave and warp fringing, some losses not overlocked, therefore needs stabilising. With later flatweave sidecords. Attractive muted colours and balanced geometric design.
