Condition

Overall measurements: 125cm across the top, 125cm across the bottom, 158cm along left side, 156cm along right side Overall in good condition with pile generally approximately 3mm in depth. Flexible handle. Glossy silk. Lower end with warp fringes trimmed to approx. 1.5cm and secured with blanket stitch, upper end similar. Top right hand corner has area of strengthened warps approx. 8cm by 8cm, just visible as silk pile looks slightly 'scrambled'. A couple of of small strengthened areas on right hand side. Small split in border approx 2cm in length, found in the middle, (should be stabilised). With old mark on reverse, possibly evidence of damp; Not visible on face of rug. Area of re-enforced wefts, and similar discolouration in small area of lower right hand corner of border. Very well executed area of re-piling to immediate right of blue vase, irregularly shaped approx 5 by 4cm, not visible on face of rug.
