Condition

Overall measurements: 287cm across the top, 292cm across the bottom, 394cm the left hand side, 392cm the right hand side. In very good condition for age with fairly flexible handle. Dense 3mm pile. Down to 1mm and knotheads in areas. There is some minor oxidisation to the browns, commensurate with dye. There are some minor repairs. Both ends overlocked with trimmed fringes, with re-overcast sidecords. This is a particularly striking carpet with unusual design and attractive ivory ground, balanced by the wide border with striking compartmentalised trellised palmettes.
