Catalogue Note

β€˜In Jiang Shaoshu's Wusheng shishi (History of Soundless Poetry): "Wang hao, his zi being Xiaocum, is a native of Yangzhou. He is skilled in landscape and figure." Given that the style of the fan is reflective of the later phase of the Zhe school, carry echoes from Wu Wei and after, assigning the fan a sixteenth-century date is quite reasonable.’
