- Haut.110 cm, larg. 30 cm
- Height 43 1/3 in; width 11 3/4 in
figurant un homme et une femme drapés à l’antique, soutenant un vase à tête de bélier surmonté d'un Amour supportant une bobèche, d'où s'échappent cinq bras de lumière ; reposant sur un socle à décor de personnages antiques et feuilles de laurier ; une base portant une signature apocryphe de Pierre-Philippe Thomire ; (percés pour l'électricité ; petits manques)
Condition
Good model. Fine quality. Has been cleaned. The central vase supporting the branches has been pierced for electricity (as the nozzle and drip pans). The gilding with minor wear in place, also with dust spots. As visible on the image, there are some missing applied elements of the frieze (which can be remade)

Le Mobilier National possède une paire de candélabres similaire, livrée pour le château de Saint-Cloud en 1803 ; seuls les socles diffèrent (ill. dans M.F. Dupuy-Baylet, L'Heure, le Feu, la Lumière, Les Bronzes du Mobilier National 1800-1870, Paris, 2010, n°115, pp. 208-209).
