Condition
The illustration is accurate. Good overall condition despite the inevitable scratches and marks due to age and use.
As stated in the catalogue description, they were originally fitted with covers which are now missing. As stated too, the square bases are probably later. A some loss to the veneer of one base. A few minor vertical constructional traces. There is one which is wider than the others, probably due to shrinkage. The gilding of the mounts is nice.
Very nice model.

Catalogue Note
Dans l'ouvrage de C. Gilbert The Life and Work of Thomas Chippendale (Londres, 1978, p. 194, fig.
