Condition
All are on unlined canvas. The paintings are in excellent condition with lovely retention of the detail throughout. Examination under UV light reveals only a few tiny cosmetic retouches in the sky areas. These paintings can be hung as is and there is no need for any further work.
Offered in ornately carved and gilt wood frames.

Catalogue Note
Giovanni Migliara began his career as a theatre-set designer and scene painter. After 1810 he focused on small-scale works including church interiors and capricci. In 1822 he was appointed Professor of Perspective at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan and in 1833 was nominated painter to the court of Charles-Albert, King of Sardinia (1831-1849).
