Woodcut, circa 1496-98, from The Apocalypse, a good impression (although showing slight wear in places), from the Latin text edition of 1511, on paper with a Tower with Crown watermark (M. 259), framed
Condition
Trimmed to and on the borderline, generally in good condition apart from a 9mm tear at lower right sheet edge, a plugged hole in the clouds at lower centre and another smaller plugged hole in the clouds at upper right, a small surface loss and creasing at lower left corner associated with hinging, slight staining associated with hinging at left corners (mainly visible verso - partially visible at the lower left sheet edge recto), pale discoloration towards the upper sheet edge, occasional small fox marks, a small white accretion at lower right, the sheet hinged to the backboard with tape at the upper corners verso, framed. (Remains of previous hinging at four corners verso).
