flush-mounted, signed in ink on the reverse, framed, 1954
Condition
This richly-toned print, on slightly textured paper with a faint surface sheen, is in generally excellent condition and exhibits the full range of tones and detail typical of Strand's prints. The print is trimmed to the image and mounted to card. Two very small deposits of expertly applied original retouching can be seen under raking light at the extreme right center edge of the paper. The print is annotated in an unidentified hand in pencil on the reverse '#480' and with a number partially obscured by a linen hinge tab: '[F]R-[POR]-973.'
