Condition

This set of 10 issues of Camera Work is in generally very good to excellent condition, except as noted below. Each issue is complete. Occasional foxing is visible on some of the mounts and tissue interleaves. Offsetting is visible on the pages opposite many of the plates. As is typical with issues of Camera Work, the wrappers of each volume have multiple chips, tears, and losses along the edges, and some are detached in places. Those wishing for condition reports on specific plates are welcome to contact the Photographs Department directly. Number 23 The spine is split along the wrapper's edge. The cover and first few pages are detached from the volume. Several of the pages are uncut. Number 24 Several of the pages are uncut. There is some very minor foxing in the margins of a few of the plates and mounts. Number 26 Several of the pages are uncut. Number 28 The spine is lacking, and several of the pages are uncut. -'The Bird Cage' by David Octavius Hill [and Robert Adamson]: There are some rust-colored stains in the margins. Number 30 The spine is lacking and the cover is partly detached. There is some small brown staining of indeterminate nature along lower portion of first few text pages. -'Man in Armor' by Frank Eugene: This plate has an unevenly shorn lower edge. Number 38 Several of the pages are uncut. Number 44 The spine is lacking and the binding is split. Several of the pages are uncut. -'Music' by A. Walkowitz: This plate is loose. -'Mother and Child' by A. Walkowitz: This plate is loose. -'Kiss' by A. Walkowitz: This plate is out of order and laid in after 'Portrait.' -'Sigh' by A. Walkowitz: This plate is loose. Number 45 Several of the pages are uncut. -'A Square—Ronda' by J. Craig Annan: This plate is loose. Number 48 – plates complete Several of the pages are uncut. The binding is split along the spine, but the wrapper otherwise remains intact. Special Number Several of the pages are uncut.
