Description

  • Minor White
  • Haags Alley, Rochester, N. Y. (Snow on Garage Door)
  • gelatin silver print
mounted, signed in pencil on the mount, 1960 (The Eye That Shapes, pl. 116; MMM, p. 138)

Condition

This early print, on semi-glossy paper, is in overall excellent condition. Upon close examination, a few long, superficial scratches in the lower central portion of the image and a few deposits of original retouching in the upper right quadrant are visible. The mount is faintly sunned at the perimeter of the photograph and there are a few adhesive remnants along the upper edge. The reverse of the mount is soiled overall and there are several rust-colored fox marks. The following is written in an unidentified hand in pencil: 'Minor White / Snow on Garage Door, Rochester, N. Y., 1960.'
