Description

  • Peter Beard
  • 'Carole Bouquet Perusing the End of the Game (Last Word from Paradise) 1977 Edition'
  • gelatin silver print
a unique object, signed, titled, and annotated in the margin in green and black ink, circa 1975, printed later

Condition

Although this print has not been examined out of the frame, it appears to be in generally excellent condition. As with other works by this photographer, there are small creases, minor tears and ink smudges that presumably occurred during the creation of the image. There is a long, horizontal crease at the lower right and a long, vertical crease at the lower center of the image. Both appear to break the emulsion. The annotations in blue and green ink in the margin reads: 'Carole Bouquet * purusing [sic] The End of the Game (Last Word from Paradise) 1977 edition / Peter Beard' and ' * "The Obscure Object of Visual Desire".' There are a few creases that appear to break the emulsion on the corners of the margins with associated emulsion chipping. There is a large, approximately 1/2-in loss to the left margin edge. A few light brown deposits are visible in the upper left margin.
