Description
- Helmut Newton
- 'Nadja and Her Spare Leg, Monte-Carlo'
- chromogenic print
large-format chromogenic print, signed, titled, and dated in blue crayon and with the photographer's Monte Carlo copyright stamp on the reverse, framed, 1994
Provenance
Sotheby's New York, 27 April 2005, Sale 8086, Lot 146
Condition
This vibrant chromogenic print is in generally very good to excellent condition. There is somewhat uneven yellowing in the margins, not affecting the image. When examined in high raking light, several fingerprints and 2 light scratches are visible: a 5/8-inch vertical scratch near the left edge; and a snake-shaped scratch in the lower margin that intrudes into the lower left corner of the image. This does not detract from the otherwise attractive appearance of this print.
'HN-9567' is very faintly written in pencil on the reverse.
