Condition

This print, on double-weight paper with a semi-matte surface, is in generally very good condition. There are several scattered imperfections in the image, which appear to be unretouched features of the negative. In raking light, some silvering is visible in the dark areas at the perimeter of the image. The margin edges are bumped and the corners slightly creased, with very occasional chipping of the emulsion. There is a faint pink deposit at the lower right margin corner. The reverse is slightly soiled. The annotations in an unidentified hand in pencil read as follows: 'B 112' (circled); 'Handprinted by Erwin Blumenfeld'; and 'From the Collection of Yorick Blumenfeld.' When examined under ultraviolet light, this print appears to fluoresce faintly.
