- French School, circa 1800
- A pair of decorative panels, depicting allegories of sculpture and painting
- a pair, both oil on panel, frames 18th century, one frame stamped Infroit, for Étienne-Louis Infroit, maître ébénistes 1768
- Framed dimensions 67 x 56 cm (26.3 x 22 in.)
Condition
Both panels are uncradled and stable. Their reverses are covered with rough painted canvas. The paint surfaces are stable and there is no major damage visible to the naked eye. Inspection under UV light reveals scattered strengthenings and retouching. In the allegory of painting there is a restored damage behind the cherub on the left, and in his back - there is another small restored damage to the left of the cherub gesturing to the book. Both pictures are in good overall condition.
