Description

  • Julian Trevelyan, R.A.
  • Taj Mahal
  • oil on canvas
  • 61 by 76cm.; 24 by 30in.
  • Executed circa 1965.

Condition

Original canvas. The canvas undulates slightly in places, but otherwise appears sound. There is a very light surface scuff running diagonally across the facade and central door of the building, visible upon close inspection. There are one or two instances of frame abrasion around the edges of the canvas. There is some light surface dirt in places. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in very good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals some areas of fluorescence, which are thought to be in keeping with the artist's materials. The work is presented in a simple gilt and wooden frame. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
