Catalogue Note
Simon-Achille Léger insculpa deux poinçons, avec une pomme et un arc pour différents, pour le gros bijou: la tabatière et la partie du nécessaire’, d'abord en 1815/1816, puis en 1820. Ce dernier fut supprimé le 30 décembre 1826. Son atelier fut installé à deux adresses: 13 rue du Roule en 1817 et 8 rue des Prouvaires en 1822. C'est le fabricant de tabatières Louis-François Tronquoy qui reprit ensuite cette adresse.
Simon-Achille Léger entered two marks, featuring an apple and a bow in different positions, for ‘le gros bijou: la tabatière et la partie du nécessaire’ in 1815/16 and then in 1820; this last was was withdrawn on 30 December 1826. He is recorded at two addresses in Paris: 13 rue du Roule in 1817 and 8 rue des Prouvaires in 1822. He was succeeded at this latter address by the gold box maker Louis-François Tronquoy.
