Condition

Overall, the condition of the metal is good, with wear and some dirt to the surface consistent with age. There are some losses to the feet of the stand. There is some corrosion to the iron, and a lacquer that has been applied to the iron has flaked in areas. There is some warping, notably to the top half of one of the legs. There is a lacuna to one of the metal knobs on the legs of the stand. There is rubbing to the copper bowl at the high points, and there is particular wear and some dryness to the inside of the bowl, consistent with use. There is some greening in a few areas, notably to the underside. There are three original copper patches to the outer rim, and there are two small stable fissures around one of these. There are a few minor stable fissures around the edge of the inner basin. The handles are possibly replacements.
