Condition

Overall the condition of the wood is good, with some wear and minor dirt to the surface consistent with age. There are a few small losses, notably to the proper right thumb and index finger and a fold of drapery on the proper left side at the bottom. It is possible that there was a now-lost attribute in the proper right hand. There is some stable splitting to the wood consistent with the material, including to the forehead, the chest, and to the back. Some of the slightly open splits have been filled, including one to the veil on the forehead, those on the chest, and some around the proper left leg and to the bottom of the drapery at the front. There is some evidence of past worming, notably at the back. A light varnish seems to have been applied to the surface. There are two small drilled holes at the back, and there is a later metal hook below.
