Condition
The canvas has been lined, the paint surface is stable with a clear, if a bit patchy, varnish. There are no major damages visible to the naked eye. Inspection under UV light reveals extensive repaint in the sky at the top left corner, and more minor scattered strengthening and retouchings throughout, the main concentrations of which are in the turban and right hand of the moor, and a patch of retouching in the pillars at the right margin.
Offered in a gilt wood and plaster frame in fair condition.
