Description

  • French School, 18th Century
  • Still life of a silver teapot and cups
  • oil on canvas

Condition

The canvas has a very firm relining and the paint surface is clean. There is evidence of slight wear to the paint surface throughout. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a patchy and opaque varnish, making it difficult to discern any early restoration, but there does not appear to be any intervention, save for two small 2 cm. square restorations in the dark tones of the background on the upper margin. In overall good condition. Offered in a carved and gilt wood frame with only minor losses.
