Condition

The canvas has been lined, the paint surface is relatively clean and the varnish is slightly discoloured. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals very few, minor retouchings at the top of the horse's front legs and around the hooves, and on its hindquarters. The painting is largely untouched, however, and in very good condition.
