Condition

Laid down on an old paper mount. There are some blemishes to the left and right edges and some losses and potential oxidation of some of the white heightening. There are some slight abrasions to the surface throughout. Otherwise still in reasonably good condition.

Catalogue Note

Though the verso of this drawing bears William Gibson's old attribution to Parmigianino, an attribution to Schiavone, first suggested by David Scrase, seems far more convincing for this intricately executed work.
