Condition

Laid down on paper. There is a vertical crease to the right half of the sheet and the upper and lower right corners have been made up. There is some very minor discoloration to the sheet, but the medium is otherwise in predominantly good condition throughout.

Catalogue Note

Though previously thought to be by an artist in the circle of Hans Bol, this drawing seems a little later, and possibly from the northern, rather than southern, Netherlands.  There are some similarities with drawings by Jacob Savery.
