Description

- 8cm. high, 235cm. wide, 58.5cm. deep; 7in., 7ft. 8½in., 1ft. 11in.
in four sections, with a giltwood leaf and twisted ribbon carved border, the whole painted with rectangular reserves with neo-classical vases and scrolling foliage surmounted by seated putti holding swags of laurel, the end sections with tablets decorated with a grotesque mask and surmounted by a wicker basket of flowers, surrounding wreaths of roses, on tapering toupie feet; now with later glass
Condition
In overall good conserved condition. The surtout is in painted plaster.The gilding is slightly dirty and would benefit from a light clean according to taste. There are some minor chips and wear to the gilding but this is not too noticeable. There are some very minor losses to the twisted ribbon section with a 8cm section missing. There is some minor flaking and stains to the painted decoration with a couple of large brown coloured areas of discolouration to one section as visible from catalogue photograph.
