the gilt-bronze banded rectangular hinged top with projecting corners inlaid with a floral spray flanked by spandrels with a flowerhead and leaves opening to reveal a gilt-bronze banded satin covered pin cushion and a recess, on cabriole legs joined by a quarter-veneered shelf on gilt-bronze scrolled feet
Provenance
Landhuis Belvedère in Overveen
Condition
In overall good conserved condition. The gilt-bronze mounts are slightly dirty and would benefit from a light clean according to taste. There is a horizontal construction crack along the top as visible in the catalogue photograph which would benefit from some minor attention. There are some old minor restorations to the veneer. The silk on the pin cushion is torn in places. The hinges and gilt-bronze mounts appear to be later. Some scattered hairline age cracks which do not detract from the piece and can be left.
