Condition
Original canvas. The canvas is very slightly loose on its stretcher, but is otherwise sound. There are stretcher bar marks to all four edges and the centre of the canvas. There is some very light rubbing to the extreme edges of the canvas, most likely from previous frame abrasion, with a few tiny scattered flecks of associated loss to the corners. There is a very light scratch to the lower right corner with a few very small flecks of associated. There is a light layer of surface dirt to the work. Subject to the above the work is in excellent overall condition.
Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals three or four very small isolated spots of retouching to the extreme edges of the canvas, possibly covering previous frame abrasions.
The work is presented unframed.
