Condition
Not examined out of the frame. Original canvas. The canvas appears sound. There is some very minor frame abrasion to the extreme edges. There are one or two extremely fine lines of craquelure, only visible upon extremely close inspection, and one or two of the thicker impasto tips in the lower part of the composition have been slightly flattened. There is a very light layer or surface dirt to the work, and there are traces of surface matter to the centre of the upper edge, most probably in line with the previous framing. Subject to the above, the work appears in excellent overall condition.
Examination under UV lights reveals no obvious signs of restoration or retouching.
The work is presented in a carved wooden tray frame.
