Condition
Original canvas.
There are a couple of instances of minor rubbing and canvas abrasion to the extreme edges of the canvas overlap, and the stretcher bar has worn through slightly in the tips of the bottom corners, only visible upon extremely close inspection. There are a couple of instances of minor rubbing to the centre of the top edge. There are traces of surface dirt and a spot of studio detritus to the centre of the composition. There are a couple of instances of loss to one or two of the raised tips of thicker impasto, only visible upon extremely close inspection, but this excepting the work appears in excellent overall condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals areas of fluorescence which appear in keeping with the nature of the artist's materials and do not suggest retouching.
