Not viewed out of the frame. Original canvas. The canvas appears sound. The canvas undulates slightly at each of the four corners. There is some slight rubbing to the edges of the canvas. There are some scattered lines of craquelure to the canvas most apparent to the mustard yellow raised impasto and yellow impasto in the upper right quadrant of the work and the red impasto in the lower left quadrant. There some extremely small loses to some of the raised impasto tips and a few possible further tiny losses in the lower left quadrant which could be in keeping with the artist's technique. There is general surface dirt and areas of discoloured varnish to the work particularly apparent at the lower and left edges. Subject to the above the work appears to be in very good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of retouching. The work is presented in a wooden batton frame.
