Condition

The sheet appears to have been adhered to the backing card around the edges, but is not fully laid down. The sheet undulates very slightly, and there are one or two light creases in the lower right corner, but otherwise the sheet appears sound. There is a pinhole apparent in the upper left corner, thought to be in keeping with the artist's working method. There is some light foxing to the sheet, most apparent in the upper right quadrant, and some speckles of studio detritus and possible matter apparent in the lower right and central area of the foreground, only visible upon close inspection. There is some light surface dirt in places and some very minor possible staining in the lower left quadrant. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in very good overall condition. The work is float mounted and presented in a simple wooden frame, held under glass. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
