Description

  • circa 436x172 cm.

Provenance

Moshe Tabibnia, Milano.

Condition

Measurements: 172cm across the top, 168cm along the bottom, 436cm along the left side, 437cm along the right side. Colours tonally correct. In reality the colours are crisper and brighter and more attractive in appearance. Generally even 2-3mm pile overall. Some areas down to knotheads, for example in some of white and yellow palmette, and lower section of carpet. The top half is generally in better and good condition overall. There are some small minor repaired splits (4 and 3cm) and small tears in the top guard and some repaired small vertical splits in the lower edge (approx. 12/ 7/ 6 and 5cm respectively). There is a stepped repair, lower left side within main field. Repaired horizontal split approximately 1/3rd of way up the right hand side border. Where some of madder ground is lower in the border there are some repairs in a brighter red, for example in the lower left side border and centre of lower border. Blue flatweave end guards. This is a particularly decorative small gallery carpet. Lovely colour combination and drawing, and versatile size. Soft wool and flexible handle. Detailed photographs are available from the office.
