raffigurante personaggio orientale seduto a gambe incrociate, con due piccoli sportelli sulla parte anteriore, seduto sopra una base quadrata in legno munita di cassetto

Condition

Minor losses to the painted decoration, mainly on the edge of the hat. A horizontal crack on the chest with restoration traces. A crack with restoration on the left side of the collar, on the left shoulder and on the back of the base. Inside the drawer, a collection paper inventory label: "4266".

Esemplari di questo tipo sono caratteristici degli interni piemontesi del XVIII secolo. Realizzati in legno, terracotta o cartapesta, i magots, chiamati anche pagode, sono noti anche in Inghilterra e in Germania. In particolare si rimanda agli esempi conservati nelle collezioni pubbliche di Dresda, Monaco e Postdam.
