Both with losses on the ebonized decoration. Both with the vase support's top with a hole carved in the centre and some wood worming. One has an octagonal inclusion, the other a square one. The male has the left rising arm restored on the forearm and close to the shoulder. A crack from the right eye vertically downwards through the drapery on the right side; another crack above the left foot. The big tow is weathered. The female has the right forearm and the shoulder cracked. Another crack from the forehead down the right arm until to the foot. A vertical crack from the back to the drapery below. The left foot has a vertical crack from the heel down the base.

L'analisi stilistica di questa coppia di mori consente un'attribuzione ad artefici romani. Le basi dorate con doppie volute e i cartigli richiamano, nelle linee e nelle curve, le gambe e i piedi dei tavoli da parete romani.
Determinante in questo contesto, allo scopo di mettere a fuoco l'epoca e l'ambiente nel quale la nostra coppia di mori fu pensata e realizzata, è il confronto con il sostegno dello stipo a Palazzo Colonna a Roma, scolpito da Filippo Schor, figlio di Giovanni Paolo attivo nella cerchia del Bernini, intorno al 1680 circa (vedi A. Gonzàlez-Palacios, Arredi e Ornamenti alla Corte di Roma, Milano 2004, p. 23, fig. 15).
Le basi in forma di roccia, ciascuna sostenuta dal braccio teso e alzato da ciascuno dei mori, sono simili a quelle dei tavoli in forma d'albero i cui progetti sono riferibili alla cerchia di Gian Lorenzo Bernini e di Giovanni Paolo Schor (vedi A. Gonzàlez-Palacios, op. cit., p. 74) e all'inginocchiatoio in forma di roccia, già sul mercato antiquario, a Roma (op. cit., p. 76).
