Condition
The right wing is detached and re-wildered. A minor loss on the base back frame. Minor defects of casting on the frame base, front centre and back frame. Small losses on the right low base edge. Good condition and lovely patina.

Catalogue Note
L'attribuzione alla bottega di Niccolò Roccatagliata si basa principalmente sui confronti con due amorini del Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna (op. cit., figg. 669-670). Queste figure sono vicine a questo bronzo in alcuni dettagli tra i quali il trattamento dei capelli, la tipologia del volto e le proporzioni del corpo. Un calamaio simile è stato venduto da Sotheby's New York il 25 gennaio 2007, lotto 243.
