Condition

Both hinged at the top. Both very fresh and overall in good condition. A: Little light brown stain on the lower right edge and corner. B: A little brown stain on the margin lower left, and two small beige stains just below towards the corner. Sold mounted

Catalogue Note

Both these drawings relate to late painted capricci by Francesco Guardi, two out of a series of four canvases formerly with the L. Koetser Gallery, London (figs. 1, 2).1  One of the two compositions (A) was also reused by Francesco's son Giacomo in a much larger drawing, now in the Museo Correr, Venice.2
