Natural pearl, emerald and diamond brooch, late 19th century

Set with a button shaped natural pearl measuring 11.73 x 10.92 x 8.19mm, square-cut emeralds and cushion-shaped diamonds, supporting a circular-cut diamond and a kite-shaped emerald.

Accompanied by SSEF report no. 87528, stating that the button shaped pearl measuring 11.73 x 10.92 x 8.19mm, was found to be natural, saltwater; the kite-shaped emerald weighing approximately 3.30 carats and measuring approximately 13.55 x 10.50 x 5.70, and the four square-cut emeralds weighing from approximately 1.90 to 1.70 carats, measuring from approximately 7.30 x 7.30 x 4.35 to 7.15 x 7.15 x 4.10mm, are of Colombian origin, three (A, D and E) with no indications of clarity modification and two (B and C) with a minor amount of oil in fissures. The pearl of white body colour, good skin and lustre, a few minor abrasions; for further details on the pearl, please refer to the SSEF report. Emeralds green of medium strong saturation, with good transparency, a few minor typical inclusions, some surface reaching, minor nicks, chips, abrasions and scratches. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 3.00 - 4.00 carats, on average H-J colour, VS-I clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. Clasp secure, safety catch. Signs of normal wear to the metal consistent with use and age, drop with signs of repair. In very good condition. Gross weight approximately 12 grams.
