Description

  • Zitan wood (pterocarpus santalinus) & huanghuali wood (dalbergia odorifera)
comprising two zitan brushpots, the smaller one with straight sides resting on three short feet with a beaded edge around the rim repeated at the flat mouthrim, the dark patina highlighted with short characteristic silver streaks, the base fitted with a central plug, the larger one sturdily modelled with thick straight sides supported on a flat base with a central plug, the patina of a lustrous glossy brown colour suffused with characteristic streaks, and a huanghuali brushpot with very subtly flaring sides rising from a flat base fitted with a central plug, the patina of a rich variegated golden-brown colour with dark brown streaks
