Condition
The canvas is not lined. There is a milky varnish preventing UV light from fully penetrating, however UV examination reveals a spot of retouching relating to a pigment loss in the lower left quadrant and some retouching in places to the right part of the upper edge; there are further small areas of fluorescence which possibly relate to unevenness in the application of varnish. There are scattered fine lines of stable craquelure, predominantly only visible in a raked light. There are fly spots in places. There is a fine line of abrasion along the left edge, two flecks of paint loss to the leftmost tree truck and a few further minor losses in places, including to the centre of the right edge. This work is in overall good condition and might benefit from a clean.
