Condition

The canvas is not lined. There is a milky varnish preventing the UV light from fully penetrating, however UV examination reveals a line of retouching approx. 20cm. long to the left of the sitter's face and some further smaller lines and spots predominantly to the upper left quadrant. There are lines of brown tape visible along the extremes of all four edges. There is a very faint horizontal stretcher bar mark towards the upper edge. This work is in overall good condition.
