Condition
The canvas is not lined. There is a layer of milky varnish preventing UV light from fully penetrating. However, UV examination reveals small retouchings to all four corners, an area of retouching to the centre of the left edge and further lines of retouching to the centre of the upper, right and lower edges, all of which are away from the central composition. There are a few further old retouchings and some smaller spots and lines of retouching in places. There are fine lines of stable craquelure throughout and a few tiny flecks of paint loss to the centre of the right edge. This work is in overall good condition.
