Movement in working order during time of cataloguing, black matte dial has aged nicely to a nice warm and appealing shade of chocolate brown, with matching lume plots and hands. Case and bracelet with light scratches. Serial number between lugs are clear and visible. Inner case back stamped: IV.67. Overall in very good condition! Highly desirable! *Please note the movement has not been tested for time keeping and a service might be required at the buyer's expense.

The classic Sea-Dweller reference 1665 can be separated into four distinct series, each one with subtle differences in dial design. The four series are also known as "Mark" and are sometimes abbreviated to “MK”. The present lot has the much sought-after Mark II dial with both a 'brown' bezel as well as a beautiful 'tropical' dial. On some of these watches, the dial changes to a nice, even warm tone of brown over the years.  In addition, this is also a "double red" version which is defined by the two red lines of the designation, versus the full white designation more commonly found on the model. All these special features make this example particularly appealing to Rolex aficionados.
