The bee brooch with diamond-set wings and eyes, to the turquoise and amethyst body, signed VCA NY and numbered; The 'Cosmos' clip brooch with four black mother-of-pearl petals, decorated by a cabochon coral centre, signed V.C.A., numbered, French assay and Van Cleef & Arpels' maker's marks; both mounted in 18 karat yellow gold. Condition
The 'Bee' brooch signed VCA NY, numbered 42698, stamped 18K for 18 karat yellow gold. Amethyst weighing approximately 6.00 carats, purple of medium strong saturation, eye-clean, with very minor typical inclusions, a tiny chip and a hairline scratch on the table, some nicks, a few fine line scratches and some abrasions on the pavilion. Turquoise of light blue colour, with natural white matrix at the base extended to a small section of the dome, and a few fine line scratches. Diamonds weighing approximately 0.60 carat, about F-H colour, SI-I clarity, as gauged and grade in the mounting.
The 'Cosmos' brooch signed V.C.A, numbered 1216K7, with French assay marks for gold and maker's mark for Van Cleef & Arpels. Stamped 18KT for 18 karat yellow gold. Mother-of-pearl of dark brownish colour, with good orient and some surface blemishes. Coral of light orange colour.
Both brooches with hardly any sign of wear to the metal, in excellent condition.
