of rectangular form, the upper section comprised of a single piece of hongmu, the interior caved with ten quadrangular compartments of varying size, the base formed by a single piece of zitan wood, carved with a small boss to each corner forming the feet, the interior similarly carved but into eleven small compartments, joined by a pair of baitong hinges and simple hook closure

Condition

With signs of use and wear throughout, including a few small stains, water stains and traces of red pigment. The hinges repaired and the pins slightly loose. With scattered tight age splits and minor cracks.
