Description

  • cloisonne enamel
the central bulbous section rising from a tall spreading foot to a wide trumpet neck, the exterior brightly decorated against a turquoise ground with stylised lotus scroll bands alternating with stiff plantain leaf bands, the interior rim similarly decorated with a broad band of stylised lotus scrolls; together with a cloisonné enamel ewer and cover, Qing dynasty, 19th century

Condition

The 'gu' is in very good condition with the exception of minor nicks and dents to the rim, characteristic pitting and minor shrinkage to the enamels and light rubbing to the gilded decoration. The ewer and cover are in good condition with the exception of light dents to the spout and rubbing to the gilded decoration.
