Condition

The painting is not relined. The photograph in the catalogue is slightly redder. The canvas would benefit from a clean. According to the expert on the artist, Stéphane Jacques Addade, who examined the painting under UV light, there are some slight irregularities in the texture however these were made intentionally by the artist. Examination under UV light showed that several areas along the edges of the frame have been retouched as well as a very fine area on the bottom of the sitter’s pants. A thin line along the left edge of the frame has also been retouched. There are several pin holes along the frame, towards the bottom of the canvas. On some areas, the texture is very fine and the canvas visible. The painting is in very good condition. The painting is in a very fine silver frame.
