- A rock crystal cup and cover with jewelled and enamelled silver-gilt mounts, Ludwig Pollitzer, Vienna, circa 1900

- 32cm., 12 5/8 in. high
the crystal carved with birds and feathery scrolls within plain polished mounts enamelled or applied with pearls and coloured gemstones, also hung with cast ram's and king's heads with further pendent pearls, the finial formed as enamelled figures of St George slaying the dragon above a spehrical knop, maker's and Vienna control marks
Condition
A dramatic and unusual piece. Some restoration to enamel on fiures. King heads have loops probably for a chain which is now lacking.
